The musical compositions of Richard Burdick

Opus 112:

Sinfonia for flute & piano

This is a calm work.
I think of it as almost Baroque.
It is a mono-tonal composition in the scale for the I Ching # 42 "Benefit" Scale tones: Bb, C, Dd, D, F, Gg, & Ab.

Because of the choice of scale it sound like Hovhaness, more than it sounds baroque. The melodies were formed by defining the order in which the scale tones occurred in comparison to the natural over tone series. Bb: 1, C: 9, Dd:19, D: 5, F: 3, Gb: 13, & Ab 7. I see no reason why this shouldn't be performed with a natural (or actually flat Ab 7th overtone) possible with harp.
